Andrew Williams

Andrew Tyrone Williams, known to most as Pee Wee, a name that was given to him at birth by one of his nurses. He was also known as Po Boy, a name given by his close friends. Andrew was born in Camden, S.C. on the 10th of July 1957. He was the 4th child of the late Edward and Eloise Williams. He departed this life on the 11th day of March 2023 at Trident Hospital in North Charleston, S.C. He attended public schools in Camden, S.C., and graduated from Camden High School in 1976. He then joined the military, and served in Germany, throughout his 3-year tenure. After separating from the military, he returned to S.C., where he worked at the State Hospital in Columbia S.C., Reeves Block Co., Redfearn Ford Motor Co., and Ralph H. Johnson V.A. Hospital, in Charleston, S.C. before retiring. His early Christian training was at Emmanuel United Methodist Church in Camden S.C., and later, he joined Sweet Home Baptist Church where he served as the church sexton, and Sunday School Teacher, under the mentorship of Pastor David Montgomery. After moving to Charleston, S.C. he joined Shiloh Seventh-Day Adventist Church in North Charleston, S.C. Andrew was preceded in death, by his wife, Laura Singleton Williams, sister Clarene Adamson, and brother Edward Ricky Williams. He is survived by his daughter, Jasmine Rutherford and grandson, Andrew “Drew” Rutherford of Fort Mill, S.C., a brother, Charles Reginald “Reggie” Williams (Dorothy) of Summerville S.C.; two aunts, Mrs. Ethel Joy Inabinett, (Curtis) of Ravenal, S.C.; Mrs. Cornelia Joy of Camden S.C.; one brother-in-law Wesley Adamson; and four nieces, Mrs. Yolanda Scott (Keith) of Columbia, S.C.; Mrs. Gretchen Davis (Jerome) of Camden, S.C.; Mrs. Ayeisha Moffatt (Mike) of Columbia, S.C.; Ms. Sonya Cauthen of Simpsonville, S.C., special cousins, Curtis “Benji” Inabinett Jr. of Ravenel, S.C. and Janie Kershaw of Rembert, S.C.; a lifelong friend, Elmore “Elmo” Spann of Haw River, N.C., great nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of other relatives and friends. Thank you to the members of Sweet Home Baptist Church, Shilo Seventh-Day Adventist Church and a special thanks to Elmore Spann, for being an honorary member of the family, and being anywhere, any time, you were needed.
