Paul Andrew Jackson

Paul Andrew Jackson, passed away unexpectedly, at his home, in Summerville, SC and entered eternity on July 15th, 2023. Paul was born in Hendersonville, NC, August 28th, 1989, the 4th child of 11 children born to Merritt Rickman (Rick) and Catherine (Cathy) Marie Jackson. Paul was married to his beloved wife of 11 years, Bree Ashley, they had two beautiful daughters, Ellie Marie (7) and Caroline Ashley (5). Paul is survived by his 10 siblings, Tarah Jackson Andre Winslette (David), Melissa Jackson Zaucha (Michael), Amanda Jackson Schlieben (Kevin), David Gregory Jackson (Ambar), Wade Thomas Jackson (Micayla), Kristen Jackson Whitaker (Michael), Grant Wilson Jackson, Suzannah Jackson Easter (Jonathan), John William Jackson and James Elliott Butler Jackson. Paul was known as “Bubba” to his siblings and “Uncle Bubba” to his 21 nieces and nephews. He was from a large extended family and is survived by his paternal Grandmother, Betty Garren Talburt (David), and many Great Uncles and Great Aunts, Uncles, Aunts, and Cousins, all of whom he loved greatly, and they all loved him. He was a 2011 graduate of the Citadel, the Military College of South Carolina and was a proud member of the Elite Drill Team, the Summerall Guards. He was commissioned in the United States Marine Corps in 2011 and served his country for 6 years in the US, Japan and Germany. He earned the rank of Captain and resigned his commission in 2017, with an Honorable Discharge. He was awarded the Navy/Marine Corps Achievement Medal, the National Defense Service Medal and the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal. Paul had an infectious smile and a boisterous laugh. He loved to tell jokes and funny stories and would easily make himself laugh. He was a friend to many and made new friends easily. He loved to discuss issues of life, his God, his family, his country, the Marine Corps, and anything political. He was passionate about many things, none more so than his daughters. He loved to hunt and fish, but he was most happy anywhere near the water. He was an outdoor enthusiast from early childhood and loved any outdoor adventure. He was a hard worker, wanting to work with his father from the time he could walk. He asked for a weed-eater for his 7th birthday and a lawn mower for his 10th birthday. His hard work and determination served him well at the Citadel and the Marine Corps. A Sunset Graveside Service will be held on Friday, July 28th, 7:30pm at the Riverview Memorial Park Cemetery at 3715 Azalea Drive, North Charleston, SC 29405 A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, July 29th, 4pm, at Alhambra Hall, 131 Middle St. Mt. Pleasant, SC 29494. Dinner and fellowship will follow the service.
