Antonio Rivera

Antonio Rivera, age 33 of Summerville, South Carolina, transitioned peacefully on Sunday, May 5th, 2024, surrounded by the love of his family. Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Monday, May 13th, 2024, at James A. Dyal Funeral Home, 303 South Main Street, Summerville, South Carolina, 29483. A funeral service will take place at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel. Burial will immediately follow at Dorchester Memory Gardens. Antonio was born November 27th, 1990, in Lansing, Michigan, son of Jose Rivera and Kendra Smith. Tony was a remarkable soul whose presence left everywhere he went a little bit better. He married the love of his life, Austin and devoted himself to her and their children Kamyah and Antonio, Jr. He was a husband, father, son, brother and friend to so many, embodying the qualities of kindness, generosity and unwavering loyalty. Tony enjoyed working around the house with his daughter and relaxing while reading his Bible. He also loved to be on the water working and leaving his mark on the Lowcountry, one dock at a time. He was a dedicated employee and his commitment and work ethic were unmatched. There was rarely an occasion clients did not go out of their way to express gratitude for their experience working with him. Beyond his personal relationships, Tony found solace and joy in the tranquility of fishing where he connected with nature and found peace. Anywhere Tony went his fishing pole, went with him. He loved his animals and they were as loyal to him as he was the people he loved. His benevolent spirit knew no bounds, as he was known for his boundless giving and selflessness, leaving an indelible mark on all who were fortunate enough to know him. A man of God, Tony’s faith guided him through life challenges, especially this last year. His positivity and humor brought light to even the darkest of days for all of us. His unwavering smile stuck with him until the end. His unique blend of humor warmth and positivity made him truly one of a kind. He left behind a legacy of character, integrity, love, and laughter that will be cherished perpetually. Tony will be forever missed and celebrated by all of the family, friends, clients, and community that he graced with his love. He is survived by his parents; step-father, Ron Smith (Tami); loving wife, Austin Rivera; his loving children, Kamyah J. Palmer, “Monk” and Antonio T. Rivera, Jr. “Junebug”; his siblings, Wesley Smith, Alexis Smith, Paloma Rivera, Gabriel Rivera and John Rico; his best friend Nicholas A. Dawson “Nick”, his stepfather who raised him Ron Smith, (Tami), as well as numerous beloved friends.
