Jackie Derral Westbrook

Jackie Derral Westbrook, 75, of Summerville, South Carolina, passed away on April 11, 2026. A devoted father, grandfather, and man of deep faith, Jackie will be remembered for his generous spirit, joyful personality, and the love he shared with everyone he met. Jackie was born on December 25, 1950, to the late James and Hazel (Cook) Westbrook. He spent his life in Summerville, where he built lasting relationships and a legacy rooted in kindness, service, and unwavering faith. He was a proud father to Eric Westbrook (Neely), Melanie Doty (Robert), and Brantley Westbrook(Jesse). His children were a constant source of pride, and he treasured every moment spent with them. Jackie was a loving grandfather to Roy, Denton, and Laura Westbrook; Opal and Edmund Doty; and Bennett and Miler Westbrook. The highlight of his life was his grandchildren. He loved them deeply and found his greatest joy in being their “Pah Pah.” Jackie was a man of faith and an active member of Summerville Baptist Church. He was a friend to all, judging no one and welcoming everyone with open arms. He had a way of lighting up any room he entered, always laughing and wearing a warm, genuine smile. Jackie had one of the biggest hearts you could ever know and never hesitated to help someone in need. He retired from the Naval Weapons Station after years of dedicated service. In his free time, Jackie loved working on cars, tractors, and any machine he could get his hands on. He was an avid and talented mechanic who took pride in fixing things and helping others build or repair what they needed. Jackie is survived by his children, Eric Westbrook (Neely), Melanie Doty (Robert), and Brantley Westbrook(Jesse); his seven grandchildren; and his brother, Jerry Westbrook. He was preceded in death by his; sisters, Linda and Mary, brother, Jimmy, and step brother Jesse Westbrook. Jackie will be remembered for his quiet strength, his servant’s heart, and the joy he brought to those around him. His legacy lives on through his children and grandchildren, who will carry his love, his laughter, and his faith forward. He will be deeply missed and forever cherished by all who knew and loved him. Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 16, from 5:00–7:00 PM at James A. Dyal Funeral Home 303 S. Main Street Summerville, South Carolina. Celebration of life service will be held on Friday, April 17, at 10:00 AM at James.A. Dyal Funeral Home Chapel . In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Dorchester Seniors, or honor Jackie’s memory by sharing a moment of kindness with someone in need.
