Ronald Edward Jones

Ronald Edward Jones, 78, of Goose Creek, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest peacefully at his home on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on November 30, 1947, in Charleston, South Carolina, Ronald was the son of the late Harry L. Jones, Sr. and Nora Jones. A proud patriot, he honorably served his country in the United States Air Force, a chapter of his life that reflected his deep sense of duty, commitment, and love for his nation. For many years, Ronald worked as a rod repairman with Alcoa, where he was respected for his dedication and strong work ethic. Earlier in his career, he worked as a meat cutter, taking pride in providing for his family through honest, hardworking labor. Ronald was a faithful member of Peace Presbyterian Church in Goose Creek, where he found strength in his faith and joy in the fellowship of his church family. Above all else, Ronald cherished his family. He found his greatest happiness gathered around the table with those he loved, preparing meals that brought everyone together. Whether cooking for a holiday, a family gathering, or simply an ordinary day, he expressed his love through the meals he shared. He was happiest when surrounded by those closest to him. A true Lowcountry outdoorsman, Ronald had a lifelong passion for shrimping and treasured every opportunity to be on the water. He also loved spending time in his garage, where there was always a new project underway. His hands were rarely still, and his resourcefulness, craftsmanship, and determination were qualities admired by all who knew him. Ronald was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Randolph Jones and Harry L. Jones, Jr.; his sister, Shirley Ann McEwen; and his beloved son, Timothy Jones. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his devoted wife of more than 34 years, Elizabeth "Betsy" Jones; his daughters, Tammy Alessandro (Scott) and Erin Jones; his cherished grandchildren, Camryn Alessandro and Reid Alessandro; along with many extended family members, friends, and loved ones who will forever remember his kindness, unwavering love, quiet strength, and generous heart. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Sunday, August 9, 2026, at James A. Dyal Funeral Home, 303 South Main Street, Summerville, SC 29483. A funeral service celebrating Ronald's life will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, August 10, 2026, at Peace Presbyterian Church, 174 Londonderry Road, Goose Creek, SC 29445. Interment with military honors will follow at 12:30 PM at Dorchester Memory Gardens, 11000 Dorchester Road, Summerville, SC 29485. Though Ronald's earthly journey has ended, the legacy of his love, faith, service, and unwavering devotion to his family will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered always.
