Boyd N. Pruitt Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Mrs. Boyd Pruitt entered into eternal rest on May 19, 2022, Boyd N. Pruitt of Charleston, SC, Widow of the late Lewis W. Pruitt. Family and friends are invited to attend her visitation on Sunday, May 22, 2022, from 1 o'clock to 2 o'clock at James A. Dyal Funeral Home. A funeral service will be on Sunday, May 22, 2022 at 2 o'clock The family will receive friends at Dyal Funeral Home from 1:00 pm until the time of service. Burial will follow at Dorchester Memory Gardens. Mrs. Pruitt was born April 19, 1927 in Griffin, GA, the Daughter of Marvin E. and Carrie Biles Norton. She was a 1944 graduate of Spalding High School in Griffin, GA, and attended Southern Business University in Atlanta, GA. Boyd and Lewis were married in Thomaston, Ga. in 1945. The family later relocated to Charleston, SC where they remained life-long residents. She was a retiree of the Charleston Naval Shipyard where she worked as Secretary and an Accounting Technician. She was an avid yard worker, loved growing flowers, and loved to dance. She was a member of Palmetto Land Baptist Church in Summerville, SC. She is survived by two Sons, Gary L. Pruitt and Wife Ellen of Mt. Pleasant, SC; Jimmy B. Pruitt and Wife, Elizabeth of Beijing, China; three Daughters, Jeanne Summers of Greenville; Connie Johnson and husband David of Charleston, SC; Wanda Brown and Husband Louis of Charleston, SC; eight Grandchildren; and ten Great Grandchildren. She was predeceased by a Son, Dave Byron Pruitt.
