James Lee Marksberry Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

James Lee Marksberry, on the morning of June 30, 2022, 89 years, went to be with his Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Thursday, July 7, 2022 at 12 noon at Dorchester Memory Gardens Mausoleum. A graveside service will begin at 1pm at Dorchester Memory Gardens. Burial to follow. He was born in Williamstown, KY, March 18, 1933, the 4th of 11 children to Beunea A. and Bessie Sorrell Marksberry. In 1959, he married Gloria Reed of North Charleston, SC. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He served honorably for 20 years in the USAF and after retiring, he opened Coastal Carolina Fence Co., which he operated for 35 years. He was an avid trophy winning Bass fisherman, winning softball pitcher and was awarded the MVP honor. He was successful at all he did and was loved by all who knew him; a man’s man! His family includes: 3 daughters: Sonya M. Jatho (pre-deceased), Angela M. McGoldrick, Cynthia M. Venittelli (Mike); Grandchildren: Haley Jatho, Brandon Jatho, Kait Morrison (Luke), Ryan McGoldrick, Addison Venittelli, Michael Venittelli, Tyler Venittelli (pre-deceased), Great-Grands: Isla and Maya Morrison; Siblings: Vivian Porter, Marvin (Faye), Shirley Harp, Dottie Faulkner, Pete (Shirley), Donald (Vanessa), Vicki Jo King (Rick); special friend, Jimmie Hair; pre-deceased by brothers: Harold, Ray, and Bill.
