Joseph Ingarra, 73, of Ladson, husband of Carol Ingarra, passed away on Thursday, April 28, 2022, in Charleston. Joseph was born on January 13, 1949 in Brooklyn, New York. The son of the late Erasmo and Rose Ingarra. Joseph entered the United States Navy after graduating from Chicora high school. He met and married the love of his life, Carol. They have two daughters, Jenny and Theresa. Joseph was a firefighter for the City of North Charleston and the Charleston Naval Shipyard. Joe started his career in the Radiological Control Office at CNSY in 1983. He worked on the waterfront as an RCT and a Radiological Training Instructor for the RCT Branch and The Job Skills and Mockup Training Branch. He also was a union steward for The International Associate of Machinist and Aerospace Workes, IAM&AW, Local 694. He completed his 30 years of civil service at DISA, Gunter Annex, Montgomery AL. He was also a member of the Lowcountry Mustang Club. Survivors include: in addition to his wife Carol of 52 years; two children: Jenny Brown (Glenn) of Nashville, TN, Theresa Rossiter (Ken) of Austin, TX and one sister Rosemarie Swanson (Arthur) of Long Island, NY.
