Larry Hue Duren Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Larry Hue Duren, 76, of Summerville, husband of Peggy Ann Meredith Duren, passed away on November 30, 2021 at Summerville Medical Center. Family and friends are invited to attend his visitation on Friday, December 3, 2021 from 6 o’clock to 8 o’clock at James A. Dyal Funeral Home and 12:30 to 01:45 on Saturday, December 4, 2021 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 2100 Bacons Bridge Rd., Summerville, SC 29485. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 4, 2021 at 2 o’clock at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Burial will follow at Summerville Cemetery, 1330 Boonehill Rd., Summerville, SC 29483. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family at venmo @Peggy-Duren-pegleg. Larry was born on October 31, 1945 in Kenton, TN, son of the late Jay Hue and Thelma Opal Rudd Duren. He was a veteran in the US Navy. Larry loved all his family. He had an infectious smile. Was a father figure to many. He will be missed by all. Survivors in addition to his wife Peggy of 52.5 years are: seven children: Jason Duren (Laura) of Logan, UT, Adam Duren (Michelle) of Summerville, Matthew Duren of Summerville, Rebecca Gathercoal (Scott) of Richmond, UT, Joshua Duren (Jhoan), American Fork, UT, Michael Duren (Kendra) of Ladson, and Jonathan Duren (Melissa) of Summerville; 19 grandchildren: Ashley, Hailey, Jacey, Dylan, Justin Seth, Marissa, Matthew Jr., Brinley, Madalyn, Kelsey, Kaybree, Kowen, Alexander, Carter, Meredith, William, Alana, Cole, and Emilia; sister, Patricia Schwartz of Riverside, CA; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by granddaughter, Ava; brother, Jerry Duren; and brother-in-law, Robert Schwartz.
