Leona Elaine Barr Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Leona Elaine Barr, 77, of Summerville, wife of the late Donald Edward Barr, Sr., passed away on Saturday, January 22, 2022 at her residence surrounded by her family and pets. Family and friends are invited to attend her visitation on Saturday, January 29, 2022 from 12 o’clock to 2 o’clock at James A. Dyal Funeral Home. A funeral service will begin at 2 o’clock at James A. Dyal Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Dorchester Memory Gardens, 11000 Dorchester Rd., Summerville, SC 29485. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Charleston Animal Society, 2455 Remount Rd, N. Charleston, SC 29406. Leona was born on June 17, 1944 in Brownsville, PA, daughter of the late Charles William and Virginia Dare Lent. She enjoyed shopping at Goodwill, going to yard sales, and most of all spending time with her animals and grandchildren. Survivors include: four children: Donald Barr, Jr. (Tammy), Lisa Hydar (Tom), David Barr, Eddie Barr (Wanda); nine grandchildren: Brandy Sewell, Amy Ivey, Joey Hydar, Breanna Barr, Reagan Barr, Lindsey Barr, Dana Bosley, and Crystal Williams; 11 great grandchildren; and two siblings: Bonnie Hrdlica and Charles Lent. In addition to her late husband Donald and parents, she was predeceased by her granddaughter, Pearl Barr.
