Leslie “Les” Paul McClanahan, Sr. 79, of Summerville, husband of the late Diane Collins McClanahan, passed away on Monday, February 21, 2022 at his residence. Family and friends are invited to attend his graveside service on Friday, March 4, 2022 at 3 o’clock at Dorchester Memory Gardens, 11000 Dorchester Rd., Summerville, SC 29485. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Autism speaks at www.autismspeaks.org. Les was born on May 3, 1942 in Waycross, GA, son of the late Virgil McClanahan and Cleo Cadenhead Herndon. He loved Clemson and Notre Dame Football, He was a history buff and enjoyed playing golf and reading. Les’s great granddaughter was his heart. He loved Architectural work and retired from Piggly Wiggly. Survivors include: three children: Paul McClanahan (Debbie) of Ladson, Janet McClanahan of Orange, TX, and Tiffany Taylor (Wilson) of Summerville; four grandchildren: Carrie McGough (Richard) of Summerville, Courtney Moore (Alex) of Boise, ID, Acylyn McClanahan of Orange, TX, and Ava Taylor of Summmerville; six great grandchildren; and siblings: Norma Jean Sikes of Waycross, GA, Cathy Sweat (Terry) of Waycross, GA, Jerry Herndon (Michelle) of Waycross, GA and John Robert Herndon (Debra) of Jacksonville, FL.
