Lewis Howard Rinehardt

Lewis Howard Rinehardt, 91, of Summerville, husband of Betty Jo Rinehardt, passed away on Sunday, January 23, 2022 at Trident Medical Center. A gravesside service will be held on Sunday, January 30, 2022 at 2 o’clock at Canaan Baptist Church Cemetery, 4977 Cannon Bridge Rd., Cope, SC 29038. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Preschool Ministry at Summerville Baptist Church, 417 Central Ave., Summerville, SC 29483. Lewis was born on October 21, 1930 in Concord, NC, son of the late Barry and Elvia Rinehardt. He was a Korean vet, and Sgt in the US Army, He received the Korean Service Medal with 3 Bronze Service Stars, United Nations Service Medal, Combat Infantry Badge, and National Defense Medal. He was a member of Summerville Baptist. Survivors in addition to his wife Betty Jo are: daughter, Robin Woodward (Alan); grandchildren: Alana Woodward, Katherine Woodward and Joseph Woodward; great grandson, Cullen Woodward; and sister, Jamie Rinehardt; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his late parents, he was predeceased by his siblings: Annie Lee Rinehardt Lapish, Bunzo “Jack” Rinehardt, Wally Baine Rinehardt, Barry Lee Rinehardt, Jr., Brown Alexander Rinehardt, Mary Frances Rinehardt Allman, Louise Rinehardt Brown.
