Linda Brewer Nettles Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Linda Brewer Nettles of Summerville, widow of Melvin “Mel” Lewis Nettles, passed away on Monday, May 30, 2022. The family will receive friends at James A. Dyal Funeral Home, 303 South Main Street, Summerville, SC from 1 o’clock to 2 o’clock on Sunday, June 5, 2022. A memorial service will follow in the James A. Dyal Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Summerville Cemetery. Linda was born on September 27, 1947 in Blairsville, Georgia, daughter of the late Rev. N.D. Brewer and Gennie M. Brewer. She cherished the love and joy shown to her by her extended family and friends. Linda spent her life loving deeply, showing kindness, spreading a smile, and lending a hand to all. Those blessed to call her Linda, Lindy Lou, Nona, Aunt Linda, Mom, or Mimi will cherish her lifetime of memories. She was best known for a great time and going “against the grain”. She will be dearly missed by all who loved her. Surviving are two daughters; Kelly Nettles Purvis (Brian) and Stacie Nettles Elwood (Darin), both of Summerville, SC, two granddaughters; Madison Nettles of Salt Lake City, UT and Kennedy Elwood of Summerville; two grandsons; Cole Elwood of Summerville and Zach Elwood (Jordan) of Albuquerque, NM; two great-grandsons; Luke and Bryce Elwood of Albuquerque, NM; one brother Roger D. Brewer (Mary) of Rutherford, NC; and many loving nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her heart “Mel,” one daughter, Amy Denise Nettles; two sisters, Betty Marshall and Pat Knight and one brother William Brewer. The family will accept flowers.
