Although Martine’s time here with us was far too short, her impact on this world was immense. As a devoted inclusive educator, Martine changed the landscape of educational opportunities for students with physical, intellectual and developmental disabilities. Her efforts were aimed at ensuring that all students learn together in the same classroom, and that students with disabilities could go on to lead meaningful, self-determined lives. Martine was loved by family, friends, and coworkers for her compassion, hilarious wit, and feisty spirit. Fiercely competitive, she was an outstanding athlete and remained a fanatical LSU fan to the core. A private family memorial service will take place on Saturday, December 12. The service will be streamed via Zoom. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Dorchester Paws SPCA.
