"Sue" Clara Susan Weate

July 1, 1942 - January 27, 2022

Clara Sue Weate, 79, of Summerville, wife of Gary L. Weate, passed away on Thursday, January 27, 2022 at Roper Berkeley. Family and friends are invited to attend her visitation on Sunday, February 6, 2022 from 2 o’clock to 3 o’clock at James A. Dyal Funeral Home. A funeral service will begin at 3 o’clock at James A. Dyal Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be at another date at Beaufort National Cemetery. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to St. Timothy’s Anglican Church, P.O. Box 3289, Summerville, SC 29484 or https://st-timothys.churchcenter.com/giving/to/sue-weate-memorial. Sue was born on July 1, 1942 in Columbus, OH, daughter of the late Lyle Norman and Mary Elizabeth Preest. She was a tiny lady but a powerful prayer warrior with a strong faith. She was full of peace and joy. Her face glowed with her love for Jesus and strengthened others. Some of the things she would say “When we fill the atmosphere around us with praise, it makes it possible for God to dwell in that atmosphere where we are. It brings the presence of God right down to the place where we are. -Derek Prince”. A scripture she reflected on was Isaiah 40:29 - He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might he increases strength. Because without God's strength she wouldn't have been able to fight this long and this hard. She stood for Jesus and she was strong in the Lord. Survivors in addition to her husband Gary are: four children: Paul “PJ” Joseph Rooney (Blanca), De Culberson (Carl), Eric Weate and Peter Weate (Allison); grandchildren: Joshua Culberson, Nathaniel (Tara), Elijah (Jessica), Daisy Rooney, Kendahl Weate, Linda, Chris; great grandchildren: Emmanuel, Alexander, Max, Liam, Luke, Charlie, Maria. A memorial message may be written to the family by visiting our website at www.jamesadyal.com. ARRANGEMENTS BY JAMES A. DYAL FUNERAL HOME, 303 SOUTH MAIN STREET, SUMMERVILLE, SC 29483 (843)873-4040.
