Thurlow "Tom" Canfield Morgan Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Thurlow Canfield Morgan “Tom”, 83, of Summerville SC, husband of Sharon “Sherry” Morgan, passed away on June 28, 2022. Family and friends are invited to attend his gathering on Wednesday, July 6, 2022, from 10 o’clock to 11 o’clock at James A. Dyal Funeral Home. A memorial service will immediately follow at 11 o’clock. Tom was born on September 13, 1938, in Oak Park, IL, son of the late Robert and Eleanor Morgan. He graduated from the University of Cincinnati with a Bachelor of Arts Degree. He married his high school, sweetheart, Sherry Morgan and they were married for 61 years. He served his country for 3 years in the U.S. Army at Fort Benning in Columbus Georgia. Tom began his profession in sales with Lever Brothers and enjoyed a 42-year career with the same company which afforded him the ability to travel the world. He loved every minute. He retired as Vice President of Sales for UMEX the military export division of Unilever. Tom loved the outdoors, played tennis and golf, and was an excellent chef and gardener. He loved being surrounded by his family and always had a new recipe he wanted to try. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He will be greatly missed. Survivors in addition to his wife, Sharon, of 61 years include: his brother William Robert Morgan, three children: Jennifer Lynn Flowers, Deborah Lee Schneider, Scott Canfield Morgan; four grandchildren: Megan Morgan Roberts, Brittany Lynn Blume, Natalie Lynn Siegrist, Brandon Douglas Schneider; six great grandchildren: Elijah Sterling Hendrix, Evelyn Aurora Roberts, Odin Eric Roberts, Kurt Henry Blume, Maelyn Tallulah Blume, Wren Beatrix Blume. Flowers will be accepted or in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Wounded Warrior Project and the American Heart Association.
