Marian Angeline Cantley Messervy, 78, of Knightsville, wife of 59 years to Horace P. Messervy, died Monday, October 10, 2011 at Trident Medical Center. Funeral service will be held Thursday, October 13, 2011 at 3 o’clock at Knightsville United Methodist Church, Summerville.Friends may call at James A. Dyal Funeral Home, Summerville from 6 until 8 o'clock Wednesday evening. Burial will follow at White Church Cemetery, Summerville.. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to: Knightsville United Methodist Church, 1505 Central Avenue, Summerville, SC 29483. She was born October 8, 1933 in Knightsville, daughter of the late Herbert and Hattie Charpia Cantley. She attended Summerville High School, was a homemaker and a secretary for her husband’s businesses. Marian was a active member of Knightsville United Methodist Church where she was a Sunday School Teacher and a leader of her UMW Pearl Murray Circle. She was loved by everyone she knew and had countless family, friends and Loved ones on whom she made a tremendous impact by her faith in Jesus Christ and her undying love for her family and friends. She was never to busy to help those in need and lived by the many good works she performed for others. She was a mother not only to her own, but many others to whom she opened her heart and home. She is survived by her husband and four daughters: Peggy Rogers (Tommy), Julie Murray (Billy), Christina Varner (Dennis) and Genell O’Connor (Chuck) all of Summerville. Others that were special to her: Janice Sullivan of Cocoa Beach, FL, Joyce Cone and Lisa Boyd both of Charleston, grandchildren: Kelly Taylor (Felicia), Kevin Taylor, Hattie Coryell (Robby), William Murray, Jr., Micah Murray, Phillip Varner, Tyler Varner, Austin Varner, Megan O’Connor and Susan Jurow (Cameron), great grandchildren: Elizabeth Taylor, Peyton Taylor, Parker Taylor, Carter Taylor, Harlan Taylor, Laynee Coryell, Gracie Coryell, Victoria Coryell, Christopher Graham, Dalton Graham, Brian Myers and Kelsey Myers, sister: Lenora C. Knight of Summerville, brothers: Franklin Cantley (Kay) of Summerville and David Cantley (Beth) of Black Mountain, NC. She was predeceased by her parents and one sister: Mary C. Till and one brother: Doc Cantley. A special thanks to all the caring nurses and techs on the 4th floor Oncology at Trident Medical Center.
